4 O bordalês Bernard Magrez também faz seus vinhos no Uruguai. A composição de 68% Tannat, 16% cabernet Franc e 16% Merlot deu um caráter especial a esse vinho. A base é o potente Tannat, porém sua adstringência foi suavizada pelo maciez do Merlot e leveza da cabernet Franc. Boa persistência, acidez moderada e taninos controlados. Muito bom corte.

3 Elaborado com 60% de Tannat, 20% de Cabernet Franc e 20% de Merlot, apresentou uma coloração vermelha rubi. Nariz de aromas de frutas negras e em compota. Na boca os taninos e a acidez aparecem de forma bem marcada e desequilibram um pouco o paladar. Ainda na boca toques lácteos como chocolate amargo e certa doçura no retrogosto aparecem conforme vai aerando. Boa persistência.

3,5 No começo a rusticidade é bem presente, com algo defumado, couro, e certa fruta em segundo plano. À medida que respira, inverte e fica mais frutado, com a rusticidade passando a baunilha/chocolate e aparece mineralidade. Muito bom, só esperava um pouquinho mais de fruta ainda. 3.8

3,5 Rubi. Aromas de fruta negra e compota. Em boca achei q taninos e acidez discretamente aumentados e desequilibrados. Paladar com tons de chocolate amargo e discretamente adstringência e uma certa doçura no retrogosto. Boa persistência.

Nu 's avonds op de bank gepaird met een stukje Parmezaan wat ik nog had liggen (ging best lekker 😁), maar was nog leuker geweest met een stuk vlees erbij denk ik.

3,5 I am loving Uruguayan wine. The Tannat varietal is a relatively unknown gem. And this red wine from Uruguay is blended with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, 2 of my favourite grapes. 3,5 Literally identical to the 2015. Black currant and a hint of dark chocolate on the nose; black cherry and hazelnut midrange with an upbeat acidity; more cherry and some plum show in the finish, with a touch of juniper branches and a pleasant dryness.

Perhaps it gave all it could but couldn’t get up the hill so they buried it under the building 😣. Blackberry, Plum, Prune in flavor only, wood, earth, acidity seemed off, very lo tannins. 🥱 I’m surprised I didn’t open many others.

Nose is misleading and gives you big expectations, makes you think of Valpolicella, but then it comes harsh and a bit bitter on your palate and it has one strange fermentation artifact; decanting is mandatory. Mixed feelings... maybe you can take more out of it in association with venison.

3,3 3.3 Deep ruby. Light aroma of blackberry, vanilla and some light yeast notes. Medium to low acidity, high tannins, dry, full body but taste somewhat plain, no complexity. 10 month in French barrels but nothing of that on the palate.

3 Complex, strong and silky, with a dark ruby color, the nose has notes reminiscent of eucalyptus, clover, leather and prunes. In the mouth, this wine is intense and smooth displaying high complexity and persistence. The elegant and round tannins dominate the notes of fig marmalade, chocolate and coffee. 3 3.2 Not bad, but also won’t buy it again. Wine to try 1 time! Cherry red color with red/pale-brownish hue, med intensity, med+ viscosity. Nose: black cherry, blueberry, prune and some raspberry. Chilly spicy red pepper, freshness of mint and eucalyptus (think like a toothpaste), wet earth, tobacco. Fresh intense attack-> high acidity and medium, a bit sharp unripen tannins. On the palate dry and quite sour, more red berries taste, grey pepper. Medium body; medium-short finish. Not really impressive.

3,5 A fairly expressive nose of dark chocolate (which I swear comes from the Tannat), turned earth, leather and graphite. The kind of nose I love. Where this falls short is the palate, though. It is completely dominated by high acidity, which I think probably comes from less than choice Cabernet Franc grapes in the blend. I wish the winemaker had just gone with 100% Tannat here. Medium bodied, low tannins, decent QPR, built to drink now.

3,5 Bernard Magrez, propriétaire de 4 grands curs classés en Bordeaux a investi dans ce pays pour produire quelques cuvées dont celle-ci, un assemblage de tannat, merlot et cabernet franc. Si vous les aimez très mûrs, assez concentrés au nez boisé et aux arômes de café torréfié, vous serez servis avec ce vin solaire bien charpenté. (27,45$)

En effet, bercé par l’Océan Atlantique, s’il a du caractère, il sait aussi séduire par son teint hâlé. Ici, le tannat étonne en nous offrant une palette d’arômes inattendus : cerise noire, pain d’épice, réglisse. De plus, en l’associant à une belle entrecôte, il a su se tenir.

3,5 Unexpectedly approachable and delicious. Red currants and oak backed up by vanilla cola. Medium body and lighter on the tannins, not too much of a finish. Great to try a less common varietal from another S. American wine producer and wonder if it can follow A path similar to Malbec’s in Argentina.

2 Not really a memorable effort. Tannat doesn’t shine. This is fairly flat and subdued, more chocolate and earth than fruit, with perhaps some floral hints, but this really doesn’t have the concentration to be in any way memorable.

2,5 Le rapport qualité/prix n’est (à mon sens) pas justifié. J’en attendais un peu plus. Totalement déséquilibré par son acidité plus que dominante qui gêne vraiment la dégustation, j’ai eu du mal a l’apprécier.
