4 A nice lightly spicy with a plum note wine. Needs a spicy meal to compliment it. Not a sit around and sip sort of wine. Pretty fuchsia purple color.

4 Softer than most Carménères, it has a strong peppery nose and does the mouth, while leaving a persistent aftertaste. Tannins nicely balanced with acidity.

4 Back to a safer choice, carmeneres are always a safe bet for me, this was no exception. Lighter bodied than the two I tried before this last night, and full of velvety fruits and berries. Slightly peppered, and well balanced acidity as well as slightly noticeable tannins. Good.

4 Interesting carmenere with plum marmolade note. Wouldn't guess its carmenere in blind test which is drawback of this wine.

3 Getting ready for a shot of wine in this Rocketshot glass. Obscure and very dark crimson red in colour. Jammy flavours and aromas of bramble, cherry, and a bit of tobacco. It has few tannins and is rather sweet. It paired well with my spicy and very umami vegetarian wok with, vegetables, rice and a superb raw sauce of raw garlic, raw chili peppers, and cold soy sauce.

3 Deep purple Carménère 2017. This wine was over the peak, maderized, I'm wondering why as I have a few bottles of Chilean Carménère 2018 under the screw cap (this was under a rubber cork) and it's still alive ready to mingle. Peppery notes, unfortunately some dried fruit, giving average pts to keep it in my log, but not to break the score.

3 Si l’Argentine a choisit le Malbec, le Chili a prit l’option du Carménère. Grand bien lui a fait. Bernard Magrez l’a bien compris et ce vin en exprime parfaitement le terroir. Sur l’instant, le nez est frais, gourmand. Baignés de soleil austral, les fruits ne se lassent pas d’être généreux. La bouche est ample, riche en mâche. Avec un final comme un rappel de fin de spectacle ; on en redemande.

1,5 Aromas of old gym socks? Musty carpet? The nose has some bizarre off-putting old sweat bacterial character. Not making me excited to sip this. Color of pomegranate juice. The oddness of the aroma carries onto the palate unfortunately. It’s simultaneously just barely overly sweet and stanky in a bad way. Not very fruity, there aren’t even many flavor notes except a biting twiggyness. Aftertaste of kalamata olives, rubber, with a zing of alcohol. My husband’s note: “Screw this thing.” And I agree fully.

3,5 Slightly aged appearance and this was also the case on the nose and palate. Presumably down to previous storing. Smells of green pepper, blackberry, slight red chilli note and tastes of jam, ripe black cherry with white pepper on finish. Despite this apparent forced ageing, I enjoyed the wine.
